What is the context behind hamlet sr.'s ghost only appearing in the night?

im trying to explain the context in why Shakespeare has the ghost only appear in the night during act 1 scen 1 of Hamlet. I know that it has something to do with the belief of ghosts during the time the play was written and also has to do with witching hour and that the sound a rooster in the morning means its safe outside but im not sure how to say it , PLEASE HELP
