Is it illegal to be a dj and play music downloaded from frostwire?

Technically, Frostwire is illegal across the board if the music is copywritten by Sony/BMG whatever. I don't know about permits, but unless you start doing high profile events, iTunes/Beatport should be fine in terms of licensing.
